FNPA Mission Statement

Advance, Promote and Protect the Science of Naturopathic Medicine and the Naturopathic Medical Profession, and to evaluate the standards of Naturopathic Medical knowledge and practice in the state of Florida.

Educate the public as to the merits of Naturopathic Medicine..

To create and maintain legislation that supports the qualified practice of Naturopathic Medicine defined as follows: Naturopathic Medicine means a system of primary health care for the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of human health conditions, injury, and disease; the promotion or restoration of health; and the support and stimulation of a patient's inherent self-healing processes through patient education and the use of naturopathic therapies and therapeutic substances.

FNPA - Fighting for Your Right to Pursue Great Health for Over 80 Years

Our newest changes are with our executive board. New board members allow for new strengths and new ideas. The past board remains active in all board decisions through the Immediate Past President and President Emeritus, Dr. R Wilson Geldner. This guarantees to maintain the essence and integrity the FNPA has built on for over 80 years.

The FNPA has updated its by-laws to fit with the current times and legislative issues..

2007 Marked the First Membership Drive in 30 years. It now includes Active, Associate, Student, Citizen and Corporate Membership. Our first two membership drives exceeded our expectations.

The FNPA continues its strong ties with our National Association, the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians. The FNPA President is active in national legislation, currently appointed as Co-Chairman of National Oversight of State Naturopathic Legislation, and on the AANP Board of Directors.

The FNPA Vice-President has been involved with national efforts for several years.

Leading Legislation Instead of Supporting It The FNPA, with support from our lawyer, lobbyist and the AANP, was allowed to rewrite the bill from scratch in 2006. Removing antiquated language and create a strong position for NDs in Florida. It was extremely well received by Legislators. This new bill allows the FNPA to lead legislative efforts and ensure that the safety and standards are in place to protect Floridians from unsafe health care licensure.

All fundraising is now done by and through the FNPA to prevent personal interest groups from fractioning efforts.
